Today I have exactly eight
weeks left in country, two months. I am going to be home to this day in two
months. I have to say, I am overwhelmed with happiness and sadness of this
fact. I am sure you can understand the many reasons why I am excited to go
home. I get to see family, friends, and loved ones…it has been almost eight
months since I have been in the States, a long time coming!
I am also sad to leave
because, there are so many things I am going to miss here in Cameroon. I
decided to dedicate one post a week of the things that I am going to miss when
I am back in the States.
I am going to miss the
following:
-Watching Friends with Kathleen
- Black fuzzy puppies
-The CTC reading room in
Yaounde
-Jane (The cat everyone
hates, but I love)
-Baby (My horse)
-Taking a taxi everywhere
-Walking out to the garden to
pick strawberries, cilantro, parsley, zucchini, and other veggies.
-Crazy Cameroonian rainstorms
-Delphine and Nicoline (The
house help)
-Northwest Coffee (I am going
to be taking literally 20 bags home with me)
-Talking with Carol (The
amazing Swiss woman who has been adopted into the Jackson Village)
-Karen’s laugh
-Hearing Maimu say every
night “This is NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams”
That concludes the list this week;
I shall share more as the weeks continue to fly by! This weekend is going to be
yet another busy one! This weekend, besides movie and a pizza night, Kathleen,
Katelyn, and I are going to Georgia’s apartment! We are going to watch movies,
maybe go out to a waterfall, and just hang out! So looking forward to it! I am
sure we are going to be doing some hiking as well! Hope all of you have a
wonderful day!
-Sarah
